Shop Content Guidelines

These guidelines set the standards for all content published by shops on the Vyete platform — including product listings, images, descriptions, shop profiles, and communications.


1. Scope

These guidelines apply to all content published or submitted by a Shop Operator ("you") or anyone acting on your behalf, including staff, agencies, and third-party listing tools.

2. Product Listings

2.1 Title Standards

Product titles must:

  • Accurately reflect the product (brand name, product name, variant where relevant).
  • Not include promotional language such as "BEST DEAL", "FREE GIFT", or excessive capitalisation.
  • Not include unrelated keywords inserted to boost search visibility ("keyword stuffing").
  • Be written in a supported platform language.

2.2 Product Descriptions

Descriptions must:

  • Be factually accurate and consistent with the brand's approved product copy.
  • Include material product information: dimensions, materials, compatibility, care instructions where applicable.
  • Not make unsubstantiated health, safety, or performance claims.
  • Not compare your price to fictitious "original" prices to create a false sense of discount.
  • Not reproduce copyrighted brand content verbatim without authorisation.

2.3 Specifications and Attributes

Complete all required attribute fields (colour, size, material, weight, etc.) accurately. Incomplete or inaccurate attributes result in poor search placement and customer dissatisfaction.

3. Product Images

3.1 Required Standards

All product images must:

  • Show the actual product being sold (not a similar or representative item).
  • Be in focus, well-lit, and at minimum 800 × 800 pixels.
  • Have a clean background for the primary (hero) image (white or light neutral preferred).
  • Accurately represent colour, scale, and condition.

3.2 Image Restrictions

Images must not:

  • Include watermarks, logos, or branding from competing platforms.
  • Contain promotional text overlays on the primary image.
  • Show adult content, violence, or other offensive material.
  • Depict packaging that misrepresents the brand (e.g., repackaged goods presented as original).

3.3 Lifestyle Imagery

Additional images may include lifestyle photography showing the product in context. All individuals depicted must have consented to being photographed for commercial use.

4. Pricing

4.1 Accurate Pricing

Displayed prices must reflect the actual price charged at checkout. Hidden fees added at checkout without prior disclosure are prohibited.

4.2 Minimum Advertised Price (MAP)

Where a brand has set a Minimum Advertised Price (MAP), you must not advertise or list the product below the MAP. The MAP is communicated during the brand verification process.

4.3 Discount Claims

Claims of discounts against a "was" price must be based on a genuine price that was active for a substantial period (typically at least 28 consecutive days within the previous 3 months). Artificial inflation of the "was" price to exaggerate discount is prohibited.

5. Shop Profile

5.1 Shop Name

Your shop name must accurately reflect your business. It must not include a brand name as the primary element (e.g., "Acme Official Store" requires Acme brand authorisation).

5.2 Shop Description

Your shop description must be accurate and not contain:

  • Unsubstantiated superlatives ("the only", "the best", "number one").
  • Claims of brand affiliation not supported by active brand verification.
  • Contact information directing customers off-platform for purchases.

5.3 Shop Imagery

Banner images and profile photos must be professional, relevant to your business, and must not infringe third-party intellectual property.

6. Customer Communications

All messages sent to customers via the Platform messaging system must:

  • Be professional and respectful.
  • Not include unsolicited marketing for products not related to their order.
  • Not direct customers to make purchases outside of Vyete.
  • Not request customers to remove or modify genuine reviews.

7. Moderation and Enforcement

Vyete reviews content at listing and periodically post-publication. Non-compliant content will be:

  1. Flagged: You receive a notice and 48 hours to remedy.
  2. De-listed: If not remedied, the listing is removed without prejudice to outstanding orders.
  3. Escalated: Repeated violations trigger a shop performance review.

Severe or repeated violations (e.g., counterfeit product imagery, sustained deceptive pricing) may result in immediate suspension.

8. Appeals

Appeal content decisions within 14 days via Shop Dashboard → Disputes → Content Appeal.
