Platform Acceptable Use Policy

Effective Date: 8 May 2026 · Version 1.0

This Platform Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all parties accessing or using the Vyete platform — including users, shop operators, brands, and couriers. It establishes the baseline standards of conduct expected of everyone on Vyete. Party-specific policies supplement but do not replace this AUP.

1. Purpose and Scope

The Vyete platform is designed to connect consumers, shops, brands, and couriers in a safe, transparent, and trustworthy environment. This AUP defines the behaviours that are incompatible with that environment and are therefore prohibited across all party types.

This AUP applies to all access to and use of:

  • The Vyete web application and mobile applications.
  • Any Vyete API, webhook, or integration endpoint.
  • Platform communication tools (in-app messaging, review systems, support channels).
  • Vyete-operated email, notification, and marketing systems.

2. Core Principles

All platform participants are expected to:

  1. Act honestly: Do not provide false information, make misleading claims, or misrepresent your identity or role.
  2. Respect others: Treat every person on the platform with dignity regardless of their background, role, or situation.
  3. Protect security: Do not take actions that compromise the security or integrity of the platform or other users' data.
  4. Follow the law: Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the jurisdictions in which you operate or engage.
  5. Use the platform as intended: Do not attempt to exploit, circumvent, or weaponise platform features against other participants.

3. Prohibited Activities — All Parties

3.1 Identity and Fraud

No party may:

  • Provide false registration information, including business names, addresses, or identity documents.
  • Impersonate another person, business, brand, courier, or Vyete employee.
  • Use another person's or entity's account credentials.
  • Operate multiple accounts to gain unfair advantage, bypass restrictions, or manipulate platform metrics.
  • Engage in any form of transaction fraud, including false claims, chargeback abuse, or payment manipulation.

3.2 System Integrity

No party may:

  • Attempt to probe, scan, exploit, or attack any Vyete system, server, or network infrastructure.
  • Introduce or transmit any virus, malware, ransomware, or destructive code.
  • Attempt to circumvent authentication, authorisation, or access control mechanisms.
  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access, harvest, or interact with the platform without written authorisation from Vyete.
  • Attempt to intercept, manipulate, or replay platform communications.
  • Deliberately attempt to degrade the performance or availability of the platform for other users.

Authorised security research must be conducted under Vyete's Vulnerability Disclosure Policy.

3.3 Data and Privacy

No party may:

  • Harvest, scrape, or collect other users' personal information from the platform without their consent.
  • Use personal data obtained through the platform for purposes unrelated to the transaction for which it was disclosed.
  • Share another party's personal contact information obtained through the platform with third parties without consent.
  • Attempt to re-identify anonymised or aggregated data provided by Vyete.
  • Transfer EU or UK personal data outside the relevant jurisdiction in violation of applicable data transfer rules.

3.4 Harmful and Illegal Conduct

No party may:

  • Use the platform to facilitate, promote, or finance any illegal activity.
  • Engage in money laundering, terrorist financing, or sanctions evasion through platform transactions.
  • Distribute content that is defamatory, obscene, or constitutes illegal hate speech.
  • Engage in discriminatory conduct based on protected characteristics (race, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected attributes).
  • Threaten, intimidate, or harass any other platform participant.
  • Stalk, doxx, or publish another participant's private information without their consent.

3.5 Platform Manipulation

No party may:

  • Artificially inflate ratings, reviews, or engagement metrics for any account, shop, product, or courier.
  • Coordinate negative reviews or complaints against a competitor.
  • Manipulate search rankings, recommendation algorithms, or pricing displays through artificial means.
  • Create fake transactions to inflate sales figures, ratings, or trust signals.
  • Offer, accept, or solicit incentives in exchange for reviews (positive or negative) in violation of review integrity standards.

3.6 Intellectual Property

No party may:

  • List, distribute, or promote counterfeit, infringing, or unlicensed goods or content.
  • Use Vyete's trademarks, logos, or brand assets without written authorisation under the Trademark Policy.
  • Use another party's intellectual property on the platform without appropriate rights or licences.

4. Automated and API Access

Where Vyete grants access to platform APIs or integration tools:

  • Access must be used solely for the purpose specified in the access agreement.
  • Rate limits and query restrictions must be respected.
  • API credentials must be kept confidential and not shared with third parties.
  • Excessive automated requests that impact platform performance are prohibited.
  • Vyete may suspend API access immediately where abuse is detected.

5. Reporting Violations

Any participant may report suspected violations of this AUP:

Reports are reviewed within 3 business days for standard matters and within 24 hours for reported safety emergencies.

6. Enforcement

6.1 Actions Available to Vyete

Depending on the severity of a violation, Vyete may:

  • Issue a formal warning.
  • Remove or restrict specific content, listings, or features.
  • Temporarily or permanently suspend account access.
  • Recover funds or credits obtained through abuse.
  • Refer the matter to law enforcement or regulatory authorities.
  • Take legal action including injunctive relief.

6.2 Proportionality and Procedure

Enforcement actions are proportionate to the nature and severity of the breach. Vyete will notify the relevant party of any significant action and, except where urgency requires immediate action, provide an opportunity to respond.

6.3 Appeals

Parties may appeal enforcement decisions within 14 calendar days by emailing [email protected]. Appeals are reviewed by a person not involved in the original decision within 10 business days.

7. Updates

Vyete may update this AUP as the platform evolves or in response to new legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated to all parties with at least 14 days' notice. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
