Courier Privacy Notice

Effective Date: 8 May 2026 · Version 1.0

This Privacy Notice explains how Vyete Technologies Ltd ("Vyete", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal data when you register and operate as a courier within the Vyete Courier Programme. It applies to individual couriers and to the nominated drivers and contacts of corporate fleet partners.

This notice is separate from the Vyete User Privacy Policy (which covers consumer accounts) and should be read alongside the Courier Distribution Agreement.

1. Who Controls Your Data

Vyete Technologies Ltd is the data controller for the personal data it holds about you as a courier. Our Data Protection Officer can be contacted at [email protected].

2. What Data We Collect

2.1 Registration and Identity Data

When you apply to join the Courier Programme, we collect:

  • Full legal name and date of birth.
  • Government-issued photo identity document (passport, national ID, or driving licence) — including document number, expiry date, and nationality.
  • Residential address and contact details (email address, phone number).
  • Bank account or mobile wallet details for payment settlement.
  • Vehicle licence number and class.
  • Vehicle registration number(s), make, model, and year.
  • Company registration details (for corporate couriers).

2.2 Background Screening Data

With your consent, we commission background screening that may include:

  • Criminal record check (to the extent permitted by applicable law).
  • Driving history and licence validity check.
  • Identity verification against government databases.

Background screening results are provided to Vyete in summary form by our accredited screening provider. Full records are held by the screening provider per their own data retention policies.

2.3 Operational Data

During active courier operations, we collect:

  • Location data: Your device's GPS coordinates are collected continuously while you are signed in to the Courier App with a run accepted or in progress. Location data is collected at approximately 10-second intervals during active runs.
  • Activity log: Run acceptance, start, en-route events, delivery completion or failure, and session start/end times.
  • Photographic proof of delivery (POD): Photos taken through the Courier App to confirm delivery or non-delivery.
  • Device data: Device model, operating system version, app version, and push notification token.
  • Courier App interactions: In-app actions, support requests, and incident reports submitted through the app.

2.4 Performance and Financial Data

  • Run completion data used to calculate performance metrics.
  • Earnings calculations and payout records.
  • Deductions and adjustments with supporting reasons.
  • Ratings given to your runs by consumers and shops.

2.5 Communications Data

  • Messages between you and Vyete support through the Courier App.
  • Records of calls made through the masked calling feature.
  • Emails and written correspondence with Vyete.

2.6 Insurance and Compliance Documents

  • Insurance certificates (motor, public liability, goods in transit).
  • Any additional compliance documents submitted during onboarding or periodic review.

4. Location Data — Additional Detail

Location data is among the most sensitive data we collect. We apply specific controls:

  • Location tracking is only active when you are signed in to the Courier App and have a run accepted or in progress. We do not track you when you are offline or have not accepted a run.
  • Live location is shared with the consumer and/or shop during an active delivery run for tracking purposes. Once the run is complete, live sharing ceases.
  • Historical location data from completed runs is retained for 90 days for dispute resolution and performance analysis, then anonymised.
  • You will always be able to see your location data in the Courier App in the Activity section.

5. Background Screening

5.1 Consent

Where background screening requires your explicit consent (e.g., criminal record checks), we will seek that consent separately and clearly before initiating a check. Refusal to consent to required screening will prevent onboarding, as screening is a condition of Programme participation.

5.2 Results and Decision-Making

Background screening results are used to make onboarding decisions. Where a check returns information that leads to rejection, Vyete will:

  • Notify you of the outcome and the general nature of the concern.
  • Not store the underlying raw check data beyond what is necessary.
  • Provide an opportunity for you to challenge or clarify inaccurate information.

Screening results are not shared with other parties without your consent except as required by law.

6. Sharing Your Data

We share your personal data only in the following circumstances:

| Recipient | Purpose | Data Shared | |---|---|---| | Consumers receiving a delivery | Real-time tracking and contact | First name, vehicle type, live location during run | | Shops dispatching or receiving consignments | Run coordination | Name, vehicle type, ETA | | Background screening provider | Identity and criminal record verification | Identity documents, contact details | | Payment processors | Earnings disbursement | Bank account / wallet details, payout amounts | | Insurance verification services | Confirming insurance validity | Insurance certificate details | | Analytics and infrastructure providers | Platform operation | Aggregated / pseudonymised operational data | | Law enforcement / regulators | Compliance with legal obligations | As required by specific lawful request | | Vyete's legal advisers | Legal proceedings or advice | As necessary for the specific matter |

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising purposes.

7. Data Retention

| Data Category | Retention Period | |---|---| | Identity and registration documents | Duration of active account + 2 years | | Background screening results | Duration of active account + 1 year | | Live location data | 90 days (then anonymised) | | Run and earnings records | 7 years (tax and financial compliance) | | POD photographs | 90 days | | Support communications | 2 years from last interaction | | Insurance certificates | 1 year after expiry or account closure |

After retention periods expire, data is securely deleted or anonymised. You may request earlier deletion where the legal basis no longer applies (see Section 9).

8. International Transfers

Where your data is processed by infrastructure providers or sub-processors outside your home country, we ensure appropriate transfer safeguards are in place (adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses, or equivalent). Details of our sub-processors and their locations are available at vyete.com/legal/sub-processors.

9. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

| Right | How to Exercise | |---|---| | Access | Request a copy of your data via [email protected] or Courier App → Settings → Privacy | | Rectification | Correct inaccurate data via account settings or [email protected] | | Erasure | Request deletion via [email protected] (subject to legal retention requirements) | | Restriction | Request that we limit processing via [email protected] | | Portability | Request a machine-readable export via [email protected] | | Objection | Object to processing based on legitimate interests via [email protected] | | Withdraw consent | Where processing is based on consent, withdraw via [email protected] at any time |

We will respond to rights requests within 30 calendar days. For complex requests, we may extend this by up to a further 60 days with notice.

Note that erasure of core operational data (run records, earnings) may not be possible during the statutory retention periods set out in Section 7.

10. Automated Decision-Making

Vyete's platform uses automated systems for:

  • Run assignment: Matching available couriers to runs based on proximity, vehicle type, availability, and performance tier. You are not obliged to accept any assignment.
  • Performance tier classification: Automated calculation of performance metrics and tier status based on your activity data. See the Courier Performance Policy.
  • Fraud detection: Automated flags for patterns inconsistent with genuine delivery activity (e.g., GPS anomalies, unusual acceptance/completion patterns).

Where an automated system produces a decision that significantly affects you (e.g., account suspension triggered by fraud detection), you have the right to request human review. Contact [email protected] referencing the specific decision.

11. Security

We protect your personal data using technical and organisational security measures including encryption at rest and in transit, access controls, and regular security testing. See the Security Incident Response Policy for how we respond to potential data breaches.

12. Changes to This Notice

We will update this Notice when we make material changes to how we process courier data. We will notify you via the Courier App at least 14 days before changes take effect for material changes. Continued use of the Courier App after the effective date constitutes acknowledgement of the updated Notice.
