Menu Terms & Management
Effective Date: 1 January 2026 · Version 1.0 · Applies To: Food and Beverage Merchants using the Vyete Menu Service
The Vyete Menu Service allows Food Merchants to publish and manage menus, list menu items, manage availability, set pricing, and receive food orders from Customers. This document sets out your obligations when using the Menu Service.
1. Activating the Menu Service
To use the Menu Service you must:
- Hold a Merchant account in good standing.
- Have uploaded valid food service licences and permits to your Merchant Dashboard (see Food Safety Standards).
- Accept these Menu Terms, which supplement and are incorporated into the Shop Terms and Conditions.
2. Menu Accuracy Obligations
You are solely responsible for the accuracy of your menu content, including:
- Item names, descriptions, and photographs.
- Ingredients listed for each item.
- Allergen declarations (see Allergen & Dietary Policy).
- Nutritional information, if voluntarily published.
- Prices, inclusive of all mandatory charges.
- Portion sizes and serving quantities.
Photographs must accurately represent the served item. Stock food imagery that misrepresents your actual item is prohibited.
3. Availability Management
3.1 Real-Time Accuracy
Menu items that are sold out or temporarily unavailable must be marked as unavailable within the Platform. Operating hours must be configured accurately; the menu should be deactivated during hours when your establishment is closed.
3.2 Preparation Time Estimates
Configure realistic preparation time estimates for each item. Persistent underestimation of preparation times that leads to Customer complaints is a policy violation and will be flagged in your performance metrics.
3.3 Inventory Integration
Where you use the Vyete Inventory Service, menu item availability is synchronised with inventory levels. When inventory indicates stock depletion, the Platform may automatically mark the corresponding item as unavailable. You are responsible for ensuring inventory records are accurate.
4. Pricing
4.1 Price Accuracy
All listed prices must be inclusive of any mandatory charges (service charges, packaging fees, VAT where applicable). Displaying a tax-exclusive price is only permitted if the tax-inclusive total is displayed alongside it.
4.2 Price Changes
Price changes must be made before accepting new orders at the new price. Charging a Customer more than the price displayed at the time of ordering is prohibited and may result in a forced refund and enforcement action.
4.3 Promotions
Where you run price promotions, discounts must be genuine. You must not inflate prices immediately before a promotion to manufacture a false discount.
5. Order Acceptance
5.1 Acceptance Window
Upon receiving a food order, you must accept or reject it within 5 minutes of receipt. If no action is taken within 5 minutes, the Platform may auto-cancel the order and issue a full refund to the Customer.
5.2 Permitted Rejection Grounds
You may reject a food order only for:
- The item is no longer available (and was not marked unavailable in error).
- A capacity constraint prevents preparation within a reasonable time.
- A safety concern (e.g., suspicion of allergen contamination, equipment failure).
Repeated rejections without legitimate cause will trigger a performance review.
5.3 Preparation and Handover
- Prepare orders to a standard consistent with your published menu descriptions.
- Meals must be packaged securely and hygienically for delivery (see Food Safety Standards).
- Have the order ready at the estimated preparation time. Persistent delays beyond the quoted preparation time will affect your performance score.
6. Performance Standards
| Metric | Warning Threshold | Review Threshold | |---|---|---| | Order acceptance rate | < 90% | < 80% | | Preparation time accuracy | > 20% of orders ready more than 10 minutes late | Ongoing pattern | | Customer rating (90-day rolling) | < 3.5 / 5.0 | < 3.0 / 5.0 | | Food safety complaint rate | > 2 substantiated complaints in 30 days | — |
7. Fees
Food Merchants are subject to the standard Merchant commission structure as set out in the Fee & Commission Schedule. No additional fee is charged for using the Menu Service itself. Optional premium features (menu design templates, nutrition label generator, allergen badge enhancements) may be available at additional cost as published in the Partner Help Centre.
