Brand Advertising Guidelines

Effective Date: 8 May 2026 · Version 1.0

These guidelines govern all paid and organic promotional content created by or on behalf of brands on the Vyete platform.

1. Scope

These guidelines apply to all brand-sponsored placements on Vyete, including:

  • Featured product listings (in-feed sponsored placements).
  • Homepage and category banners.
  • Email campaign slots (brand-focused emails sent to opted-in users).
  • Push notification campaigns.
  • In-app interstitials and takeovers.

Organic content (standard product listings, shop profile content) is governed by the Brand Content Guidelines.

2. General Standards

All advertising on Vyete must be:

2.1 Truthful and Substantiated

  • Claims must be factually accurate and capable of substantiation if challenged.
  • Superlatives ("the world's best", "#1 in category") require verifiable evidence from an independent source dated within the last 12 months.
  • Health and safety claims must comply with applicable regulatory standards and must not overstate benefits.

2.2 Clearly Identified

  • Sponsored content must be clearly labelled as such. Vyete applies a "Sponsored" label automatically, but all creative assets must also make the promotional nature clear.
  • Influencer or affiliate content must be disclosed in accordance with applicable advertising standards (e.g., ASA, FTC guidelines).

2.3 Appropriate and Respectful

  • Advertising must not be offensive, demeaning, or discriminatory.
  • Comparative advertising must be fair, accurate, and not denigrate competitors by name without factual basis.
  • Content must be appropriate for the audience segments targeted.

3. Prohibited Advertising Content

The following content is never permitted in advertising on Vyete:

  • Misleading price claims: "Was £200, now £50" is permitted only where the "was" price was genuine and in effect for at least 28 days in the preceding 3 months.
  • Counterfeit or grey-market product promotion: Advertising must only promote genuine, authorised products.
  • Prohibited product categories: Tobacco, nicotine products, prescription pharmaceuticals, firearms, and gambling services may not be advertised.
  • Targeting of minors: Products intended for adults (alcohol, age-restricted goods) must not be targeted at users under the relevant legal age.
  • Bait-and-switch tactics: Advertising a product or price that is unavailable for the purpose of redirecting the customer to a different product.
  • Shock or fear advertising: Content designed to unduly frighten or exploit the emotions of consumers.

4. Audience Targeting Standards

4.1 Permitted Targeting

You may target advertising based on:

  • Behavioural signals (browsing and purchase history within Vyete).
  • Demographic segments (age range, location, broad interest categories).
  • Contextual signals (category pages, search terms).

4.2 Restrictions

You may not target:

  • Users under 18 with advertising for age-restricted products.
  • Users who have opted out of personalised advertising.
  • Sensitive audience segments (e.g., users in financial distress) with exploitative offers.

4.3 Competitor Targeting

You may not use the trademarks of competitors as targeting keywords for the purpose of diverting customers through confusion.

5. Creative Specifications

All creative assets submitted for approval must:

| Format | Maximum File Size | Accepted Formats | |---|---|---| | Banner (static) | 500 KB | PNG, JPG, WebP | | Banner (animated) | 1 MB | GIF, WebP (animated) | | Video ad | 50 MB | MP4, WebM | | Email creative | 2 MB | HTML, PNG |

  • Resolution: minimum 72 DPI for web, 144 DPI for high-density displays.
  • Text-to-image ratio: text should not cover more than 20% of the banner area.
  • Animations must not flash more than 3 times per second (accessibility compliance).

6. Approval Process

6.1 Submission

Submit creative assets and campaign brief via Brand Dashboard → Campaigns → New Campaign. Include targeting parameters, budget, run dates, and CTA destination URL.

6.2 Review Timeline

Vyete will review campaign submissions within 3 business days. Rejected submissions will receive written feedback. You may revise and resubmit.

6.3 Expedited Review

Urgent time-sensitive campaigns may request expedited review (48 hours) for an additional fee, subject to availability.

6.4 Post-Approval Monitoring

Approved campaigns are subject to ongoing monitoring. Vyete reserves the right to pause a live campaign if it receives consumer complaints or is found to breach these guidelines.

7. Performance Reporting

Vyete provides campaign performance reports in the Brand Dashboard including:

  • Impressions and reach.
  • Click-through rate (CTR).
  • Conversion rate and return on ad spend (ROAS).
  • Audience breakdown (age, region — aggregated and anonymised).

Reports are updated daily and retained for 12 months.

8. Intellectual Property in Advertisements

You must own or have a valid licence for all creative assets used in advertising, including images, music, fonts, and third-party logos. Vyete is not liable for IP infringement in brand-submitted creative.

9. Enforcement

Non-compliant advertising will be paused immediately. Repeat violations may result in suspension of advertising privileges. Refunds for paused campaigns will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
