Product Listing Standards

Effective Date: 1 January 2026 · Version 1.0 · Applies To: Shop Operators using the Vyete Sales Space

These Product Listing Standards set out the detailed requirements for every product listed in a Shop's Sales Space. They supplement the Shop Terms and Conditions and the Prohibited Products policy.

1. Mandatory Listing Fields

Every product listing must include:

| Field | Requirement | |---|---| | Product title | Accurate, descriptive, free of keyword stuffing or misleading terms | | Brand | Correctly attributed to the verified brand (see Brand Verification Policy) | | Category | Selected from Vyete's standard category taxonomy | | Description | Accurate account of the product's features, specifications, and intended use | | Images | At least one image of the actual product (see Section 2) | | Price | Inclusive of all mandatory charges; tax-exclusive display requires tax-inclusive total alongside | | Availability | Accurately reflects current stock level (see Inventory Management Terms) | | Condition | New / used / refurbished — as applicable |

Additional fields required for specific categories (dimensions, weight, materials, certifications) are published in the Product Category Guide in the Partner Help Centre.

2. Image Requirements

2.1 Authenticity

Primary images must be of the actual product being sold. Stock imagery used as the sole primary image for a specific variant is prohibited. Images must clearly represent what the Customer will receive.

2.2 Technical Standards

  • Minimum resolution: 800 × 800 pixels (square or portrait aspect ratio preferred).
  • Background: white or neutral for primary image (additional lifestyle images may have any background).
  • No superimposed text, pricing, promotional badges, or watermarks on the primary image.
  • No images depicting competing platform logos or unrelated branding.

2.3 Intellectual Property

You must own or hold a licence for all images you upload. Using a brand's product imagery requires the brand's authorisation. Vyete may remove listings using unlicensed images.

3. Pricing Standards

3.1 Accuracy

The listed price must be the price the Customer pays. You may not charge more at checkout than the price displayed on the listing.

3.2 Promotional Pricing

Where you mark a product as discounted (was/now pricing), the original price must have been your genuine selling price for that product for at least 14 days in the preceding 60 days. Manufacturing a false discount by inflating the original price before a sale is prohibited.

3.3 Tax Display

Prices must include all applicable taxes by default. If you display tax-exclusive pricing, the tax-inclusive total must be displayed alongside it at every point the Customer sees the price.

4. Product Descriptions

4.1 Accuracy and Completeness

Descriptions must accurately represent the product. They must include:

  • What the product is, what it does, and what it is made of.
  • Dimensions, weight, or quantities relevant to the Customer's purchase decision.
  • Safety warnings required by applicable regulation.
  • Compatibility information (where relevant, e.g., electronic accessories).

4.2 Prohibited Description Content

Descriptions must not:

  • Make claims that cannot be substantiated (e.g., "cures [medical condition]", "guaranteed to last a lifetime").
  • Use comparative superlatives ("best on the market", "cheapest in Kenya") without verifiable evidence.
  • Reproduce competitor brand names to game search results.
  • Include unrelated keywords intended to appear in irrelevant search results.
  • Contain HTML, scripts, or formatting outside the supported rich-text fields.

5. Variants and Bundles

5.1 Variants

Products with multiple variants (size, colour, storage capacity) must have a separate inventory record per variant, as described in the Inventory Management Terms. Each variant must accurately reflect its own attributes in the title or variant selector.

5.2 Bundled Products

Bundles (multiple items sold together as a single listing) must clearly disclose all included items, individual quantities, and any exclusions. The bundle price must not obscure the value of individual components in a misleading way.

6. Regulated Products

Products in regulated categories require additional documentation before listing:

| Category | Requirement | |---|---| | Pharmaceuticals and health products | Pharmacy and Poisons Board registration; no prescription items without appropriate licence | | Food and supplements | KEBS certification or county health clearance as applicable | | Electronics and electrical goods | KEBS Import Standardisation Mark (ISM) where required | | Alcohol | Applicable liquor licence and Vyete category approval | | Children's products | KEBS safety certification for applicable product types |

Evidence must be uploaded to the Merchant Dashboard. Vyete may request updated copies on renewal.

7. Listing Accuracy Maintenance

You must update listings promptly when:

  • A product's specifications, design, or included contents change.
  • A product is discontinued or recalled.
  • Pricing changes.
  • Images no longer represent the product accurately.

Listings found to be materially misleading after sale may result in forced refunds, listing removal, and performance penalties.
