Tour Space Terms
Effective Date: 1 January 2026 · Version 1.0 · Applies To: Shop Operators who have activated the Tour Space
The Vyete Tour Space is an optional feature that allows a registered Shop to list, manage, and take bookings for tours, experiences, and activities alongside their standard product or food offerings. These Tour Space Terms govern the obligations of Shop Operators ("you") who activate this feature.
These Terms supplement your Shop Terms and Conditions and the platform-wide Tour Operator Terms. In the event of a conflict, the Tour Operator Terms take precedence in matters relating to the safe delivery of experiences; the Shop Terms take precedence in matters relating to shop administration, payouts, and brand verification.
1. Activating the Tour Space
To activate the Tour Space within your shop, you must:
- Hold a valid Tourism Regulatory Authority (TRA) licence (Republic of Kenya) or equivalent in your country of operation.
- Hold adequate public-liability insurance covering your guided experiences (minimum KES 5,000,000 per incident).
- Submit your TRA licence number and insurance certificate through the Shop Dashboard under Settings → Spaces → Tour Space.
- Accept these Tour Space Terms.
Vyete reviews your application within 5 business days. You may not list experiences or accept bookings until activation is confirmed.
2. Relationship to Standalone Tour Operator Registration
Activating the Tour Space within your Shop is distinct from registering as a standalone Tour Operator on Vyete:
| | Shop Tour Space | Standalone Tour Operator | |---|---|---| | Registration context | Added to an existing shop | Dedicated tour operator account | | Payout method | Combined with shop payout cycle | Separate tour operator payout | | Tab in legal portal | Shop → Tour Space | Tour Operator entity | | Applicable base terms | Shop Terms + Tour Space Terms | Tour Operator Terms | | Booking interface | Shop dashboard | Tour Operator dashboard |
If your primary business is delivering experiences (not selling products), you may prefer to register as a Standalone Tour Operator instead.
3. Your Obligations
By activating the Tour Space, you accept all obligations set out in:
- These Tour Space Terms.
- The Experience Listing Requirements for the Tour Space.
- The Booking & Cancellation Policy for the Tour Space.
- The Safety & Guide Standards.
- The Prohibited Experiences policy.
- The Acceptable Use Policy.
Tour Space bookings are subject to the same minimum cancellation standards and safety obligations as standalone Tour Operator listings.
4. Payout for Tour Space Revenue
Tour Space bookings are subject to the 15% platform commission on booking value (12% for custom group bookings; 17% for seasonal campaign bookings). This commission is separate from the standard product sale commission your shop pays.
Tour Space payouts follow the same weekly settlement cycle as your standard shop payouts. They are itemised separately in your payout ledger under "Tour Space Revenue".
5. Suspension of the Tour Space
Vyete may deactivate your Tour Space independently of your shop account if:
- Your TRA licence or public-liability insurance lapses.
- A safety incident occurs that is under investigation.
- Your experience listings or operations are found to violate the safety, prohibited experience, or guide standards policies.
Suspension of the Tour Space does not affect your ability to operate your shop's Sales Space or Food Space.
6. Deactivating the Tour Space
You may deactivate the Tour Space at any time through Settings → Spaces → Tour Space → Deactivate. Pending bookings must be honoured or cancelled with full refunds before deactivation is complete. Outstanding Tour Space payouts are settled at the next regular cycle.
7. Governing Law
These Tour Space Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya.
