Prohibited Experiences

Effective Date: 1 January 2026 · Version 1.0

This policy lists the categories of experience that may not be listed on the Vyete Tour Service under any circumstances.

1. Prohibited Categories

The following may not be listed or operated through the Vyete Tour Service:

| Category | Details | |---|---| | Hunting of protected species | Experiences involving the hunting, trapping, or killing of any protected or endangered species under Kenyan wildlife law or CITES listings | | Captive wildlife exploitation | Experiences using wild animals in captivity in conditions that do not meet Kenya Wildlife Service welfare standards (e.g., canned lion interactions, performing animal shows) | | Unlicensed activities | Activities that require a regulatory licence or permit that the Tour Operator does not hold (e.g., aviation, marine excursions, KWS concession areas) | | Controlled substances | Experiences that involve the consumption, facilitation of access to, or promotion of controlled substances | | Unreasonable risk activities | Activities creating unreasonable risk of death or serious injury without adequate informed-consent documentation, appropriate insurance, and recognised safety certification | | National park access without permit | Tours entering national park, game reserve, or protected area land without a valid and current KWS or KWCA permit | | Prohibited wildlife areas | Experiences in areas closed by the relevant authority due to conservation, disease, or security concerns | | Illegal or unregulated activities | Any activity that is illegal under Kenyan law or that operates outside applicable regulatory frameworks |

2. Grey Areas and Clarification

Where you are uncertain whether a planned experience falls within a prohibited category, contact the Tour Operator support team at [email protected] before listing. Vyete will provide a written determination within 5 business days.

3. Pre-Listing Review

Vyete reviews all new tour listings for compliance with this policy before they go live. Listings in categories that could intersect with prohibited activities may be subject to enhanced review requiring additional permit documentation.

4. Post-Listing Monitoring

Vyete monitors live listings through Customer reports, regulatory notifications, and periodic audits. Listings found to involve prohibited activities after going live will be removed immediately without prior notice.

5. Consequences

Operating or listing a prohibited experience constitutes a material breach of the Tour Operator Terms and the Acceptable Use Policy. Consequences include:

  • Immediate listing removal.
  • Account suspension pending investigation.
  • Referral to the Tourism Regulatory Authority, Kenya Wildlife Service, or other applicable authority.
  • Permanent delisting for severe or repeat violations.

6. Reporting

Customers and other Tour Operators who identify a listing they believe to be in a prohibited category may report it via the in-platform "Report" function or by emailing [email protected].
